In a world where personal convictions often intersect with professional decisions, Rick Thomas, the founder of Life Over Coffee, exemplifies the importance of aligning one's choices with deeply held beliefs.

His decision to partner with Old Glory Bank is a testament to this alignment, reflecting a commitment to principles that resonate both personally and professionally.

A Journey Rooted in Transformation

Rick Thomas's life story is one of profound transformation. From a tumultuous youth marked by challenges to a life dedicated to ministry and counseling, his experiences have shaped a mission centered on hope and help. In 2008, he and his wife Rita launched the Life Over Coffee global training network to bring hope and help to those in ministry by creating resources that spark conversations for transformation.

As we got to know Rick and his business, we at Old Glory Bank were inspired by the way he has bridged his faith and his professional venture. One thing we especially love about Rick’s philosophy in building Life Over Coffee is his intentionality behind the simplicity of it. As he says, the Great Commission we are called to follow as believers, to go and make disciples, can be intimidating. His vision casts it in a perspective that is simple and non-intimidating. We found this intentional simplicity to be a wise strategy for business and ministry, one that Old Glory Bank has similarly applied. Focus on your mission and keep it accessible for your customers.

Keeping his ministry online also brings eternal values to a modern medium. Not unlike Old Glory Bank, as we have taken the traditional American values of freedom, personal service, community, and responsibility, and applied them to a modern, online bank.

Aligning Financial Choices with Faith

For Thomas, choosing Old Glory Bank was more than a financial decision; it was a reflection of his commitment to institutions that uphold values he holds dear. Old Glory Bank's emphasis on constitutional rights, privacy, and support for traditional American values aligns with the principles Thomas advocates through Life Over Coffee. This alignment ensures that his financial dealings are consistent with his mission to promote hope, help, and transformation grounded in faith.

Rick also tells us of the reassurance he has found in banking with Old Glory Bank, knowing our commitment to protecting his family and his business from cancel culture. Rick says, “I was introduced to a term .... called debanking, and that was actually the trigger point for me ... that really concerned me because our ministry is primarily online, and I always live with this awareness that we could be turned off at any minute if I communicate something that I believe the Bible teaches but is contrary to the culture. And so, I have this awareness that there are authorities out there that do not agree with some of my positions, but I never connected that to the banking industry. When it comes to our financials, whether it's with our ministry, or our personal life, or our future ... it was precautionary [to choose Old Glory Bank].”

The Broader Implication: Integrity in Every Choice

Thomas's decision underscores a broader message: the importance of integrity in every aspect of life. By selecting a bank that mirrors his values, he demonstrates that personal convictions should permeate all decisions, big or small. This approach not only reinforces his personal beliefs but also sets an example for others to consider how their choices reflect their values.

Rick Thomas's partnership with Old Glory Bank serves as a reminder of the significance of aligning one's choices with personal convictions. In doing so, he continues to live out the mission of Life Over Coffee, fostering transformation through intentional and value-driven decisions.

“I love America. I love this country. I appreciate God’s blessing on our country. I would like for it to continue.”
