Former First Lady Melania Trump sat down with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo to discuss the impact cancel culture has had on her life, both personally and professionally, as discussed in her book. Though her experience began during her time in the White House, she emphasizes that cancel culture is still happening today. Mrs. Trump detailed multiple cancellations to which she was subjected, including measures taken by her bank and her email provider, simply because they disagreed with her political position. Beyond the personal impacts of such an action, her bank’s decision to cancel her charity impacted the children served by her organization.

She shared in a video clip posted to X, “The bank suddenly informed me they would not be able to do business with me anymore … as well as the university: It was all agreed they would accept my donations for the foster students ... The board of directors … They said we cannot go on. It's very sad, because who suffered? Children from foster communities. They didn't have a scholarship that somebody [would] provide with them. They didn't want to do business with me because of political affiliation, my political beliefs."

The victims of cancel culture in America today, the victims of debanking, aren’t just the account holders. The reach often goes far beyond the individual. If one person is canceled for her political beliefs, we are all impacted, because it is an erosion of our freedoms, our financial security. If the First Lady of the United States of America can be debanked, what protection do the rest of us have?

Thankfully, we have Old Glory Bank. We stand with you.
