Americans deserve privacy when it comes to banking and should not worry that their bank will share their transaction data with the government simply because they made a purchase at a sporting goods store or bought a Bible or an American flag.

Law-abiding Americans should never be treated like criminals. That is the idea behind a new bill introduced by Utah Senator Mike Lee. The Saving Privacy Act, or SPA, aims to end the rampant practice of banks sharing private transaction data with the government. SPA contains major reforms to strengthen American’s right to privacy in banking by requiring a valid warrant for law enforcement agencies to access private financial data.

From the beginning, we vowed we would never share your data with the government in any unconstitutional attempt to infringe on the lives of law-abiding citizens.

Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan’s eye-opening report revealed in 2023 how banks willingly shared transaction data with the federal government in the wake of the January 6 attack on the Capitol. From our inception, Old Glory Bank vowed never to share the private transaction data of law-abiding citizens with any government agency unless legally required to do so. Privacy, security, and liberty are in the DNA of Old Glory Bank. We stand with you.
