We are honored by the opportunity to expand our Merit Scholarship award to additional recipients. Old Glory Bank’s scholarship committee was so impressed and encouraged by the incredible submissions we received that we couldn’t stop with just one.
We are excited to share that we have awarded additional scholarships to Colin Shen, Maddox Lewis, Teagan Rhodes, and Kirk Pacey in the amount of $1,500 each.
These young minds have made our hope for the future of America as vibrant as ever!
Colin is a driven and accomplished student leader with a passion for civic engagement, environmental advocacy, and scientific research. A Texas delegate to the prestigious U.S. Senate Youth Program and finalist for the Calvin Coolidge Scholarship, Colin has lobbied on Capitol Hill for historic battlefield preservation and worked to pass landmark environmental legislation in Texas.
His academic interests span ecology, environmental science, and political research, with internship experience at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the University of Houston, and Ballotpedia. Colin is also a National Merit Scholar, U.S. Physics Olympiad Semifinalist, and active athlete and school leader, reflecting a well-rounded dedication to service, scholarship, and American ideals.
Maddox is an accomplished scholar, servant leader, and community builder from Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia. Maddox was Valedictorian of his graduating class, and has earned over a dozen academic honors across disciplines, including top departmental awards in math, science, history, English, and the arts.
A passionate leader, he has served as Student Body President and created a peer tutoring program in honor of his brother, offering over 300 hours of academic support to students with learning differences. His commitment to service is matched by his deep respect for American heritage, demonstrated through his work with the Sons of the American Revolution to promote youth civic engagement.
Teagan Rhodes is a dynamic student leader, scholar, and athlete from Sonoma, California, with a passion for service, creativity, and empowering others. A 2025 graduate of Sonoma Valley High School, she served as Financial Advisor to the Associated Student Body and president of both the Interact Club and Link Crew, where she led school-wide events and mentored younger students.
Teagan’s commitment to her community is evident through her volunteer work with Sweetwater Spectrum and youth soccer coaching, and she was honored as her school’s delegate to American Legion Auxiliary California Girls State. A varsity soccer co-captain and award-winning filmmaker, Teagan has earned accolades including the Sonoma Women’s Club Emerging Women in Leadership Award and Best Editing at the Sonoma Student Film Festival. Her well-rounded excellence reflects a strong dedication to leadership, artistic expression, and civic engagement.
Kirk Pacey is a high-achieving student and versatile leader from Missouri City, Texas, recognized for his academic excellence, servant leadership, and diverse extracurricular involvement. A summa cum laude graduate of Dulles High School and recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship to the University of Houston Honors College, Kirk has excelled in advanced academics, earning certifications in engineering, cloud computing, and programming.
Beyond the classroom, he has served as an orchestra leader and JV soccer captain, earning UIL awards and athletic honors. His long-term commitment to service is evident through years of volunteer work with church missions and youth programs. Known for his reliability, discipline, and passion for continuous learning, Kirk demonstrates a well-rounded, purpose-driven approach to achieving his goals.
